Swedish conductor Mika Eichenholz made his debut with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra in 1989. The same year, also the year of his graduation from the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, he was awarded First Prize at the Swedish Competition for Conductors (Svenska Dirigentpriset). In 1990, he was chosen to replace Neeme Järvi at very short notice on a tour with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and soloists Ida Haendel and Lynn Harrell, thus beginning a career that has since brought him to orchestras worldwide. Mika Eichenholz is frequently engaged as guest conductor in the Swedish and Finnish orchestras as well as being a returning conductor in orchestras in Eastern Europe (Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Hungary, Romania), Austria as well as in South America (Chile, Brazil et al.). As an opera conductor he has also been engaged by Folkoperan in Stockholm, the Gothenburg Opera and Värmlandsoperan. Among recent and upcoming engagements to be mentioned are concerts with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic, the Swedish Chamber Orchestra, the Hamburger Symphoniker, as well as opera tours in Holland.
Born in 1986 in São Paulo, Brazil, the young conductor won first prize at the 2011 Blue Danube International Opera Conducting Competition. Kattah moved to Vienna in 2011 and has been working together with many different orchestras. He has conducted in the Vienna State Opera, the Musikverein, and the Hofburg et al. Vinicius Kattah's passion is the music of W.A. Mozart in which he specializes. In 2015, he founded the project Tutti Mozart where for the next ten years, he will present the music of Mozart on YouTube on period instruments in chronological order.
Born in South Africa, David Scarr received his musical training both there and in Austria, where he completed his studies in conducting with distinction at the Vienna Conservatory in 1994. Scarr has since conducted orchestras, choirs, and chamber music ensembles, concentrating on symphonic repertoire, opera, and choral compositions. He has conducted productions in Spain, Portugal, Slovakia, South Africa, and Australia (Sydney Opera House), directed a number of world premieres, and recorded works for Austrian Radio, South African Radio, Classic FM, and Fine Music Radio. From 2002 to 2007, he held the position of Professor and Head of the Music Department of Rhodes University, Grahamstown in South Africa. In 2009, he returned to Vienna where he is a conductor of the Schoenbrunn Palace Orchestra.
Following a four-year engagement as Assistant General Music Director at the Volksoper Vienna and a seven-year tenure as Principal Music Director at the Luzerner Theater, the Swedish-Australian conductor Rick Stengårds is once again a freelance artist based in Vienna. He has a music theater repertoire of over 100 works performing with companies such as the Vienna State Opera, Folkoperan Stockholm, and Opera Australia. Highlights in his career include: L’Heure Espagnole, La Sonnambula, West Side Story, and A Midsummernight’s Dream for the Luzerner Theater, The Csardas Princess in Leipzig, Die Fledermaus in Lüneburg, and concerts with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxenbourg, Orchestra Victoria, and MUSIKFABRIK. Comfort Ye in Capetown, Macbeth and Bluebeard’s Castle in Melbourne and concerts with the Australian Philharmonic, the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra and Klangforum Wien are among future projects.
