Darko Ljubas was born in 1966 in Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina.
He started playing the violin at the age of six.
He went to music high school until 1989 and then to the University of Music in Sarajevo.
He is a winner at several different competitions in the former Yugoslavia.
At the age of 20, he became a member of the National Theater of Sarajevo.
In 1991 Ljubas came to Austria to continue studying at the Vienna University of Music. In the following years he worked with many Viennese orchestras.
In 2004, after successfully completing an audition, he was hired by the Carinthian Symphony Orchestra, where he now works as first violinist.
He is still a member of several Viennese ensembles, where he regularly performs at concerts at home and abroad.
