Portugal 2025: seven cities in the Strauss year
From 29 April to 5 May 2025 the orchestra, conducted by Vinicius Kattah, played in Lisbon, Palmela, Sintra, Braga, Porto, Coimbra and Aveiro.
In spring 2025 the Schönbrunn Palace Orchestra Vienna went on a concert tour of Portugal, part of the "Strauss 200th Anniversary World Tour" for Johann Strauss's 200th birthday.
Seven cities
From 29 April to 5 May the orchestra played in Lisbon, Palmela, Sintra, Braga, Porto, Coimbra and Aveiro. Vinicius Kattah conducted; the soloists were the soprano Simona Eisinger and the baritone Michael C. Havlicek.
Warm applause
Every evening ended with enthusiastic applause from the Portuguese audiences. In November 2025 the orchestra returned to Lisbon for a concert at the Centro Cultural de Belém, and in September 2026 another tour through Portugal and Spain followed.
